Joyelle McSweeney is the author of ten books of poetry, stories, novels, essays, translations and plays, including the double poetry volume Toxicon and Arachne (Nightboat Books, 2020) and The Necropastoral: Poetry, Media, Occults, a work of decadent ecopoetics. With Johannes Göransson, she co-edits the international press Action Books, publishing such authors as Raúl Zurita, Hiromi Ito, Josué Guébo, Choi Seungja and Kim Hyesoon, while supporting translators like Daniel Borzutzky, Don Mee Choi, Katherine Hedeen, Katrine Øgaard Jensen, Michelle Gil-Montero, Jeffrey Angles, and many others. She is proud to serve as the 2020 mentor for ALTA’s Emerging Translators Mentorship Program in Korean poetry and, along with Carmen Maria Machado, to have guest edited Best American Experimental Writing 2020. She teaches at Notre Dame.
